Pissarro's - Hastings

My partner and I visited this brasserie during our week-long vacation in Hastings. We hadn't treated ourselves to a carvery lunch in years because of the noise levels caused by children running around and screaming. I booked a table for 2:00 pm in the hopes that the noise would have died down by then. When we arrived, we were seated in the carvery area where we could have a peaceful conversation. This set the stage for a fantastic carvery experience with excellent food and service. We were impressed with the selection of four roasts available, and we were lucky to try all three available on the mixed plate. My husband had turkey and beef, while I chose lamb and gammon. The portions were generous and delicious. Unfortunately, the cauliflower cheese was already finished when we were served, but we didn't mind as the vegetable dish of carrots, French beans, and savoy cabbage was exactly what we were looking for - all perfectly cooked and not frozen. We also enjoyed a huge Yorkshire pudding and plenty of gravy, accompanied by a nice bottle of Malbec. It was the perfect Sunday lunch experience, and we thank everyone at the restaurant for making it so enjoyable. If we ever visit Hastings on a Sunday again, we will definitely repeat this wonderful experience.

This set the tone for an excellent dining experience with great service. The carvery offered a choice of four roasts, and we opted for a mixed plate to try them all. My husband had turkey and beef, while I chose lamb and gammon. The portions were generous and delicious. Unfortunately, we missed out on the cauliflower cheese as it was not ready when our food arrived. However, the assortment of vegetables served was exactly what we had hoped for - carrots, French beans, and Savoy cauliflower cooked to perfection. The addition of a large Yorkshire pudding and gravy, along with a decent bottle of Malbec, made for a perfect Sunday dinner. Thank you for a wonderful experience, and if we ever find ourselves in Hastings on a Sunday again, we would love to repeat this enjoyable experience.

I stayed in the guest rooms of the townhouse next door and decided to have lunch there yesterday. I highly recommend making a reservation as the place filled up quickly after opening. And I can see why! I tried a few different dishes and everything was delicious - especially the homemade hummus, which was incredibly fresh! The staff was friendly and attentive, and I would definitely return to try a main dish.

Great meal, fantastic entertainment the coverups) live band, service was fast the staff could not do enough for them would highly recommend menu was very varied large Friday night out

Beautiful evening with friends here. my friends chose the place because of the filetsteaks on the rocks. I can see why they liked it. I had the ribs that were delicious. the taste became somewhat overwhelming at the end, so maybe less. for me next time. beautiful staff.
