フィードバックを提供するI have to admit, I'm surprised by all the 4 and 5-star reviews. After reading various articles and reviews, we made a special trip to this restaurant. While the service was good and the ambiance was nice, the food was some of the worst I've had in a long time. It was bland and lacking flavor. The cacio e pepe rice balls were dry and contained neither cacio nor pepe. The tomato soup tasted like thick, low-quality store-bought marinara, and I couldn't bring myself to eat it; thankfully, I wasn't charged for it. As for the chicken Milanese, which many people rave about, it was equally unremarkable. I genuinely wanted to love this place, but I left feeling disappointed. I wouldn't recommend it at all.
Great spot, wine is on point. And the service is impeccable. Price per person: $100+ Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes: Burger House, Deviled Eggs, Rice Balls
Unfortunately, our experience last night was disappointing from start to finish. Our server approached the table and engaged in a basic conversation that felt uninspired. When we inquired about the deviled eggs, he had no information. When we asked for menu recommendations, he simply read it off to us—lacking any genuine interest as if he had more pressing matters to attend to. As for the food itself, the Risotto Rice Balls were incredibly bland. I suggested adding Serrano to enhance the flavor, but it didn’t seem like it mattered. The market fish—cod—was overcooked and served in a disappointingly small portion with only three clams, one of which was empty. It was accompanied by olives and grape tomatoes, all drowning in a broth with overcooked lemon that made it bitter. The paella, however, was decent. Did we voice any concerns to our waiter? No, because he never checked in on us. When we finally asked him for coffee as he cleared our plates—seeing that three-quarters of my fish remained on the plate—you would expect a question about our meal; he never bothered to ask. After waiting 10-15 minutes for our Irish coffee, a woman from behind the bar interrupted our deep conversation about a dear friend who had just passed away. She curtly informed us that we needed to vacate our table because they had four people waiting due to a reservation mix-up. I told her I was waiting for my coffee, and she offered to remove it from the bill, which prompted an honest and intense response from me. After a brief exchange, she said she would bring us the check. Having written about food for a long time, I truly don’t understand how a restaurant with potential can run this way. The waiter and this woman would be fired on the spot in any other place. When it came time to pay, someone else took care of the bill, as they could tell I wouldn’t have left a tip—after all, that’s what they work for, and it reflects your satisfaction. Boro6 is quite popular and receives positive reviews; it has a lively atmosphere and a great bar area. However, the food, at best, rates a 5 on a 10-point scale. After a long week, I want to support local restaurants, but after this experience, I won’t be returning. The best part of the evening happened when we left. We found a seating area across the street to continue our discussion, where we chatted with a couple walking their dog. When they asked about Boro6, I hesitated before admitting that if they were looking for good food, this wouldn’t be the place. I suggested they go for the cheese and charcuterie, which the restaurant doesn’t prepare but simply plates. I apologize for such harsh honesty, but you can choose to dismiss this feedback or take your business elsewhere. Sadly, I fear my words will fall on deaf ears since this restaurant remains popular and well-reviewed. It seems most diners focus more on presentation than on taste.
