Freight House - Hartselle

Im so happy to find such a wonderful restaurant close to the town I live in. The ribeye steak was delicious, cooked perfectly and the strawberry cake was to die for.I give the Freight House a 10 out of 10!

I'm reviewing from a separate account than I'm used to. I'm disappointed that Google will not let you transfer your reviews to a new account. I've reviewed 119 locations in the previous account. That being said:Wife had the Chicken Salad Croissant. It was so good, she got a to-go box for the second half and had it for dinner. Absolutely delicious.I had the Catfish Filet with turnip greens and pinto beans. The filet was meaty and extraordinary. The greens needed pepper sauce, and the pintos were good. All in all, I don't think I'd order anything else but the catfish. Just wish I had ordered two pieces instead of one. Yes. It was that good.Erica D., our server was excellent!Also loved walking around the restaurant and seeing the old scales and other train station memorabilia.Go. Go!

The shrimp was lightly breaded and cooked perfectly. The atmosphere was awesome, and our waitress was attentive, never letting our tea glasses get low.

Found this hidden gem by chance, absolutely loved the old train depot and decor. Even had a train fly by within feet of the building and barely felt it, a very unique experience. Had the French Dip Panini and home made chips which were excellent. Will be back next time in town.Wheelchair accessibility: Nice ramp access

I expected better. Fried catfish was good seasoning in batter wanted, ground beef patty was good, Bake Potatoe Was not Done my mom did not say anything, The turnip greens Greenbeans very Bland Need seasoning, sadly food not great, just mediocre. Hush puppies tasted GOOD but almost too hard.Ambience almost too dark more lighting needed on front booths Used my Cell flashlight to read menu at lunch time.I wanted hot sauce for veggies y’all only had Tabasco.I give atmosphere 5star since inside a Historic Train Depot.Maybe y’all should offer complimentary cornbread muffins or something.We came for Strawberry cake But y’all were out of THAT cake, so we tried Italian Cream cake very good, but not a reason to dine there.We took our moms for lunch.
