One of the best places still around in SouthEnd! I always make sure to stop by whenever I'm in the area. I've been going there since childhood. They have the best beef cutlet sandwich, topped with cheese and peppers, all on a nice, crispy roll.

Vegetarian options include veggie grinders and eggplant Parmesan, among others. Parking is available in a small lot in front of the store, and the entrance is level with the parking lot, making it wheelchair accessible. You can customize your grinders to fit your dietary preferences.

I also tried the Steak Salad and a side of macaroni salad, both of which were absolutely delicious. The steak was made with top sirloin strips, crumbled blue cheese, onions, and tomatoes, all served on a bed of lettuce. And their balsamic vinaigrette? So good! They offer paninis, signature wraps, and weekly lunch specials, too. When I arrived, there was plenty of seating inside since it was just after the lunch rush. I took my order home, and the size of the grinder was so generous that it easily fed three of us. I can't wait to return and try the Chicken Cutlet Grinder next! Grinders come with your choice of toppings including lettuce, tomatoes, hot peppers, roasted peppers, olives, onions, or pickles. They also have a great selection of condiments: mayo, mustard, spicy mustard, horseradish cream, oil and vinegar, creamy pesto, pesto, ranch, caesar, chipotle mayo, and hot sauce. That’s a whole lot of fun right there!

Classic Hartford spot. Always loved this place. Price seems to keep going up but doesn't stop me from coming in.

I asked about her favorite sandwich when I ordered and was told it was the chicken stable. It was SO GOOD. And HUGE! I ate for lunch and the rest for dinner. I'm from the west coast and it's not easy to find good Italian sandwiches like these. I was in heaven.
