Karobean Kitchen (kbk)-grab-n-go

Absolutely one of my favorite hidden gems in the Hartford area. This Jamaican/ soul food takeout restaurant is located inside of a convience store. Everything is incredible, from the Oxtail, to the Curry and Jerk Chicken. They fry the fish to order and the portion sizes are huge. For 12 or 13 dollars, you get enough for dinner and lunch the next day. Definitely take the drive if you’re ever in the Windsor area. Service: Take out

This is a food counter inside a convenient store. I think any chicken dish can be taken in a cheaper lunch special option with one side. I went for a jerk chicken with rice and peas and a side of fried plantains. Jerk chicken was super flavorful, and nicely spicy. I would return just for the jerk chicken. Mango curry chicken was ok. Side of baked mac and cheese and candied yam were both ok. Candied yam cutely sits in the food counter topped with marshmallows. The sight is irresistible. But fried plantains are the best side.

Fire, like a traditional jamacian spot food is all cooked fresh each day and put on warmers... everything was banging and flavorful

Everyone in the East Windsor/Broad Brook area knows that we have a limited selection of food types and if you want something other than pizza, burgers or Chinese/Japanese food, you have basically remained stuck to go to Enfield, Manchester, East Hartford or Springfield. When Karobean opened the kitchen, I had to throw it in to try. I've been here a few times and the food is incredible and expensive, and the guys working were always very friendly. These guys know spices and it shows up in the food. You do an incredible job balance taste and salt content nothing here feels salted over the tip. Do not overlook this place if you are looking for a change in the pace of what the area offers.

How Can I not rate this place a 5 Star! Great, Great Food! The Jerk Taco Boxes are new and amazing!
