フィードバックを提供するThe restaurant is set to feel like a cheap wedding hall.. the tables were neat with clean tablecloths but has a cheesey 1970s look, I would not recommend ordering anthing except the crabcakes.. everything looked reaheted in a microwave with very little presentation. Not a fineding restaurant by any stretch of the imagination.. quantity over quality with a banquet hall atmosphere. Best to order crabcakes to go.. oh and the desserts (forget about it) def came out of a box.
I work very close to the restaurant so I figured I'd give the takeout a try. I ordered the 9 oz New York strip with the vegetable of the day and a baked potato. The steak was a definite freezer to grill item. It was under-seasoned and unflavorable and chewy at best with a 5th of the entire steak being non-edible fat. The vegetable of the day was green beans and they tasted like canned green beans used in a school cafeteria and were also under-seasoned. The baked potato was obviously old as the dirt it had originally been grown in...I could not eat it. It was dry, shriveled, and grainy. Restaurateuring is not a difficult market if you maintain quality food. Unfortunately this restaurant's takeout shows how ignorant their staff must think customers are to good food. I finished my meal still feeling hungry and very unsatisfied with a wallet $21.00 lighter. I will not return, even for the fabled heavenly crab cakes.
We went to Timbuktu on the last day of our vacation after hearing from the hotel staff all week about how great the place was. My first warning should have been the kitschy decor and waiting area that smelled vaguely like urine. The prices were outrageous when you consider that the food was third rate and the mashed potatoes were fake! I had already had crab cakes the previous two days at other restaurants, so I ordered the salmon. It was bland and a little pungent , but I ate about half of it before realizing I wasn 't really enjoying it. My wife ordered the filet mignon which was $30 plus and had very little flavor and again, came with the fake mashed potatoes. I started to not feel well almost instantly and awoke in the middle of the night with full blown food poisoning! I was up all night wretching I 'm pretty sure I regurgitated my entire insides (including food I ate ten years ago) and after five days I STILL do not feel right. I would not send my worst enemy to this place and am still mad that my vacation was ruined by the poisoning I paid almost 40 dollars for. Avoid this place at ALL costs.
Crabcakes were great but steak was under seasoned and not worth the price. Sides were nothing special.Lobster was rubbery. Definitely not worth what we paid.
Food was delicious and portions matched the value. Will definitely be back!
