Seven Stars Chinese Takeaway

Awful uncooked battered chicken balls. Small bits of chicken. Spring rolls called meat spring rolls but contain prawns so beware. Bad news when the best thing is the prawn crackers. Vermicelli absolutely tasteless. Never ever again.

I don't know why, but every six months, I yearn for a nostalgic soggy fast-food burger from McD's. Similarly, the food from the Seven Stars remains unabashed and unreformed from the 70's. It's really not great, but brings back remembrances of Saturday night treats with my parents decades ago. There is certainly better food in the vicinity, but I love the fact that this still exists and long may it continue.

I ordered chicken curry, beef fried rice, and egg fried rice, but all of them tasted bland like rice pudding. When I called to complain, the person who answered the phone claimed that no one else has complained. I mentioned the poor ratings of the restaurant, but was simply told not to order from them again. This is customer service at its best.

The fish and chips were undercooked and the worst I have ever tasted. I hope they go out of business.

We have lived near this takeout restaurant since 1980, but we typically avoid it and opt for the Nepali restaurant next door. However, last week at 9pm, I had a sudden craving for chips and decided to give it another try since we were so close by. Unfortunately, it was a disappointing experience. The chips were lukewarm, soggy, and tasteless. Despite attempting to crisp them up in the oven, they still had to be thrown away as they were inedible. Overall, it's a takeaway place to avoid.
