This restaurant is a popular Chinese take-out place in the neighborhood with a traditional feel. It is clear that it is popular based on the number of cooks working in the kitchen during the evenings. While some dishes may be hit or miss, I highly recommend trying the grilled pork dumplings, spring rolls, house special chow mein, and crispy aromatic duck pancakes. The portions are large and the food is served quickly by a very friendly front-of-house staff.

If you used to enjoy Chinese takeout in the past, then this is the perfect spot for you. There are no fancy decorations, just consistently delicious food at a reasonable price, prepared fresh. Our usual order of tasty salt and chili ribs, flavorful special fried rice, noodles, and our indulgent favorite sweet and sour chicken balls (the ideal remedy for a hangover) has always been satisfying.

I ordered Sweet and Sour Chicken with Rice and Chili Beef with Plain Rice. For appetizer, I had Prawn Toast. The Sweet and Sour chicken was excessively doughy and the sauce lacked flavor. The Chili Beef lacked spice and the beef was dry and tough. Overall, the food was tasteless and of poor quality. I had a disappointing experience and would recommend avoiding this restaurant at all costs.

We'd been a customer of a Chinese takeaway for the last 12 years and unfortunately they have closed down, so we needed to find another takeaway chinese and thought we would try New Sweet n Sour. What a big mistake that was. I'm sorry to say the majority of the food was awful. The deep fried shredded beef looked terrible and tasted the same as it looked. The egg fried rice and noodles were greasy and had too much soy sauce, and the pork chow mein was a big disappointment as all the pieces of pork were inedible as full of fat. Crispy chicken balls were greasy and mini spring rolls too. Me and my family were only able to eat a couple of mouthful of this food and the only part of our takeaway that we were able to eat were the chips. Apart from the chips we had to throw all the food away and were left feeling nauseous and quite hungry after. We will not be ordering again from this takeaway

The food is of high quality for a takeout establishment, with generous portions. Some standout dishes include the Spicy Curry Mutton with fried rice, roast duck and pork with boiled rice, and assorted meats with a choice of noodles or rice. The hot and sour soup is also a standout option. New Sweet and Sour offers good portion sizes, reasonable prices, and convenient late-night operating hours.
