I eat Peruvian food all the time as my wife is Peruvian and been to Peru many many times so I know what to look for. Quality and taste of food is 5/5 BUT portion wise depends what you get is not so good. For example ANTICUCHOS 5/5 Taste and portion are very good. Probably my favorite one. LA PERFECTA PAREJA (ceviche and jalea)1/5 Very disappointed!! Portion is sooooo little for that price. I was thinking to share the plate but it?s not even enough for 1 person. Got 1x yam in ceviche and 2x fried yuka fries in this plate. Wasn?t even filling. Had to order garlic bread to fill me Up. GARLIC BREAD 4/5 Not Peruvian style but 100% Italian style. I enjoyed it none the less as this is an Peruvian/Italian restaurant. CHILCANO 1/5 worse one I?ve gad. Very strong and not enough Gingerale. Couldn?t finish it. portion was good tho. MARACUYA SOUR 3/5 Not bad. Had better ones but not bad. Portion is good. OVERALL, I really wanted to like this place since I drove 1hr for it. My recommendation if you?re in the Markham area and want good portion of jalea or ceviche check out Los Chicos Brasa in Markham. So far from all the Peruvian restaurants I?ve tried in Toronto they are the closed to real back home Peru food. Even have pollo a la brasa which Peruviano doesn?t even have. My experience at Peruviano otherwise was good. Great service and they bring the food out fast. Servers are super good and friendly. If I was to change anything I would focus on portion and price. Some items are over priced for the portion you get. Location is great and love the backyard patio!
This Sunday was the first day we went there and get in. At night the restaurant is always busy, so I recommend you make reservations if you want go there for dinner. The food was perfect. I took Lomo saltado and my husband took a pesce a gorgonzola. My beef was cooked right, super tender... amazing. And my Husband fish was really good. The waitress was very kind and polite.
This is a lovely restaurant with a charming patio that creates a warm, homey atmosphere. The music is enjoyable, and the food is delicious. The staff was outstanding; although our initial server forgot to inform anyone about our order, another server quickly stepped in to rectify the situation. It’s always a nice touch when the owner stops by to greet guests and make everyone feel welcome; she is genuinely lovely. The portions of the main dishes could be slightly larger, but overall, my husband and I will definitely return. We highly recommend this place!
We visited this restaurant for the first time tonight, and it was fantastic! Having never tried Peruvian food before, I must say it truly exceeded my expectations. We forgot to snap photos of our appetizers, which included an empanada filled with seasoned ground beef, botija olives, raisins, egg, and the most perfect pastry, along with fried plantains. For our main course, we ordered Sudado—a dish of white fish in a delicious sauce made with tomatoes, roasted peppers, onions, and cilantro, accompanied by rice and cassava—along with ceviche. Everything was incredible! The service was impeccable as well. We're definitely going to become repeat customers. The chef even came out to introduce himself and took the time to inquire about our experience and the quality of the food. It was a perfect 10/10. Everyone needs to try this beautiful gem of a restaurant!
The patio is stunning, and the service is incredibly friendly. The menu offers a refreshing change from other local restaurants. We loved the sangria and pisco sours. The plantains and empanadas made for delightful appetizers. Our main courses were equally enjoyable. The coffee, recently imported from Peru by the owner, accompanied by delicious churros, was a perfect finish to our meal. We definitely plan to return!
