フィードバックを提供するThis review is for the James South location of La Luna Express. Very disappointing, especially because I trusted positive reviews, and I wanted to try something different than the usual Burger / Pizza / Wind thing for delivery. I ordered the Beef Shawarma Plate through Skip the Dishes. In an amazingly fast time. Beef was dried and hard. The Pita was stale. I guess I had a nice veggie-filled gyro type of things in mind. The frits were such a delicate mess with a white Gopp over them. No veggies except a strange fried cauliflower. The Falafels were fine, maybe at some point was hot, but came drowned in a tasteless cold hummus. On the bright side, the Greek salad was huge and delicious. I'll stay with burgers, pizzas and wings in the future.
I called in my order and was told for 20 minutes to pick up. I was there at 20 minutes and my order was not even started. The restaurant wasn't busy. When I came home, there was no Pita bread in my order... When I contacted the restaurant, they told me that pits were not included unless a complete meal was ordered. This is not true as if I eat in King St or Concession St restaurants and order the same food, I always get Pita. My Greek salad floated in dressing. My chicken skewers were overtaken and very dry. My mushrooms were the only thing that was well prepared. That was a terrible effort for over $30.
The food is always delicious. I love salads and meat and hummus. The hot sauce and garlic sauce is also delicious. I'd buy bottles of it if I could. The staff is always pleasant and friendly.
We started with a fat salad, it was fresh and the combination of flavors was delightful. It followed a miraculous surprise. We both ordered chicken shark. It was the best I ever had anywhere. The pack was hot, the shrimp was fresh and the combination of spices was fantastic. I definitely go back when I'm in the area. I was surprised how expensive the main places were. But I'm sure it's worth it.
We had twenty people over to the house and we ordered from la luna upper james. greek salad, chicken and beef shawarmas, the fried cauliflower, pita, hummus and rice. it went over very well. many went back for seconds, especially the chicken shawarma. the hummus...is fantastic. many there have never eaten this type of food. so thats a testament in itself.
