Funcle's Cafe - Hamden

I called the restaurant to ask if they could cook a certain item a specific way for my son who has food sensitivity issues. Unfortunately, I was told that they wouldn't accommodate my request, especially on a weekend. This certain item is apparently very easy to make, so I was taken aback by their refusal. I had never been to this restaurant before and was looking forward to trying it, but this experience was a complete turn off for me. I usually don't leave reviews, but I felt it was necessary in this case, especially because the person on the phone was rude about it. I would rate the service as 1 out of 5.

This was only my second visit to the restaurant, and both times I observed the staff arguing. The argument was particularly loud during my second visit, creating a very uncomfortable atmosphere. The service and food were rated as 4 out of 5, with a price range of $10 to $20 per person for lunch. Unfortunately, the atmosphere only received a rating of 1 out of 5.

This restaurant is really good, a hidden gem! We had a great dining experience with excellent service. We had brunch and the prices were reasonable, around $10-$20 per person. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was fantastic. We highly recommend trying the Ultimate Steak and Cheese dish.

Excellent food! I always order gluten free due to an allergy and they're extremely careful and mindful! Their BLTs are to die for! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
