フィードバックを提供するYears ago, I wrote up my favourite bar in Venice. Schoolboy error. It was another five years before I managed to secure a table again,. So I am reluctant to share this secret with you, but it is only fair on the great team that run it to keep it busy. It is a virtuous circle, of benefit to all. It is not, however, a place for woke townies. Go see, sample and adopt; this is a very special place.
We had two excellent meals here during our stay nearby. The quality of the food was excellent with a great choice on the menu. The dining room was well appointed and comfortable. The service was warm and friendly and we were made to feel very welcome. We were delighted to learn that local chef, Mark Westaby, who served us meals on wheels during our Yorkshire holiday stay in 2020 was now in the kitchen here. We should have guessed as his food is always top quality. Highly recommended.
We had a wonderful lunch with friends at this restaurant. The atmosphere was friendly and welcoming, and all the tables were full by the time our food arrived. We ordered sea bass, chicken, lamb chops, and a delicious steak and ale pie, which were all excellent and very tasty. The prices were reasonable as well. The service was a bit slow, but it was understandable as the pub was packed. Overall, we had a great experience and will definitely be returning. The Timothy Taylor beer was also well-maintained.
The food was excellent, but the service was horrendous. The staff was extremely rude and made everyone feel uncomfortable. I won't be returning anytime soon, which is a shame because this pub has always been great. I am very disappointed.
Saturday lunch. Easy to park outside. Proper beer, well kept. Good and varied pub food, plus specials such as seafood platter, fish of the day, lamb 's liver. Well cooked, the star was the chocolate brownie though, best I 've ever tasted from our brownie expert. Service charming and very efficient. A great place in this handsome village.
