Shiraz Hm Persian - Halifax

Okay, it's been in Halifax for 17 years and is owned and run by a lovely couple. The outside looks like the building might fall in at any time. But, walk through the door and it is spotless, warm and welcoming, and you will be treated like family by the owner. It seats only 8 people and the menu is simple, kabobs, rice, a curry, hummus, and some veges. But, everything is perfectly cooked, the chicken is moist thigh meat seasoned and grilled, and the whole experience is just perfect for a chilly evening. They do a lot of take-out (to go) business but for real charm you have to go in person.

I waited over an hour to receive my meal, experiencing the worst service I have ever encountered. Only after threatening to leave and go to a nearby restaurant did I finally receive my meal. The taste and authenticity of the food were nothing special. Overall, not worth writing home about.
