One of the best all you can eat sushi places in the Bay Area. I thought this place had one of the freshest sashimi around for the price. It's around $30 and the service was excellent. They give you cards to check off the items you want. Each round was 3 items per person. I went with a group so our rounds had a lot of food. I definitely would recommend this place to everyone.
This was second time my family dinned at Monster Chef. The service was great. However, the food was just all right. Some of the sushi were great but some were bland. The buffet style was a plus! Too bad this restaurant put out a notice that they will close the restaurant for good August 12, 2019.
Delicious all-you-can-eat sushi! The quality here is definitely better than at most places. The average price range is around $42 to $50, if I remember correctly. Just a heads up: the service can be a bit slow.
The rule is that each person can place up to three orders, so with our group of six, we had a total of 18 orders to choose from. We primarily ordered sashimi and nigiri, which I honestly think are the best items on the menu, alongside the takoyaki. If you're in the mood for sushi rolls, you’d probably be better off going elsewhere, as they don’t excel in that area. The miso soup was quite salty and not very enjoyable, so I wouldn't recommend it. One thing to note is that there’s a fairly long wait between each order. We found ourselves waiting 40 minutes for our food to arrive, only to discover that there was just one person making sashimi and another preparing rolls. This lack of efficiency was frustrating and contributed to my rating of 4 stars. If I could, I would give it 3.5 stars, but since the fish was fresh and delicious, I decided to round it up to 4. Another downside was that at times, the staff would ignore our calls or forget our orders; they often wouldn't return to check on us. It would make sense for there to be more than one person handling sashimi and nigiri, especially since they are serving the whole restaurant. While it's not a large establishment, preparing sashimi and nigiri for each table—particularly for larger groups—can be quite a task. At the end of the meal, there was a small ice cream spoon served, but it wasn’t unlimited. They have a ‘no tipping’ policy, although you can leave a tip at your discretion if you wish.
