Matilda Truck & Travel Stop

Arrived at the Matilda Truck stop Female restroom to find mud on the floor. Toilet paper scattered, dirty toilet bowls and general untidiness. POSITIVE The toilets all workThere is a sharps box and healthcare dispenser NEGATIVEVery untidy Loud buzzing lightsThe hand dryer at the far end does not workOTHERBeing the holidays and a major stop over, you would think they would clean it more often.

Location is great for travellers to stop in and get a bite to eat. However I was very disappointed with the service. I ordered and paid $6.50 for a simple chicken lettuce sandwich which the chicken was burnt and as such tasted old. I took a few bites before I couldn't eat any more. It looked fine. But the taste was off. I hadn't eaten all day and I went to leave but couldn't justify the price for nothing so I thought I would at least ask the question, can I exchange for less value? The woman who served me (while I'm sure she was just doing her job) was incredibly short and rude with me. All I wanted was a simple exchange but I was spoken down to like a liar. This sandwich wasn't edible for me. Maybe it was a one off. I'm willing to give you the benefit off the doubt. But talk to me the way I was spoken too, and I won't be back

Generally the cheapest fuel around , the fuel stop & mart are clean and well kept , but the rest of the place is not well kept and run down.The intersection is a nightmare in heavy traffic !The food hall is dark and kinda dingy , and the staff plainly think that they in Jail ! Someone should let them out !! They plainly don't want to be there.Food is uninteresting junkfood , only slightly better than the usual fastfood joints.So , what could be a great stop prior to Gympie is let down by lack lustre food , staff with poor attitudes , and poor maintenance, a pity , given it's great location.

It wasn't that bad! A welcome rest stop on a long drive. The air conditioning was working, toilets were OK and most importantly, Matilda was there - larger than life and livelier than ever. Matilda, it has been a long 35 years since I last saw you. I promise not to leave it so long next time.

This is an incredibly busy service station, it is a coach drivers stop ( Greyhound etc) and I guess it serves it's purpose, but only just! Massive food hall where travellers can stretch their legs and fill the tummy. Cleanliness standards are appalling especially in food handling and table surfaces rarely get cleaned. Probably management don't care as there is a limitless conveyor belt of more travellers coming through that door.Great place to relieve bladder, but that's allFinally Matilda the giant Kangaroo has found it's home here, hope they don't feed it
