Seven Stars - Guildford

We were looking forward to trying out the new pub for a family birthday for hoping it’d become a family favourite as it’s just down the road. Sadly we were disappointed. We waited over an hour for our food so we were starving. We had 3 rounds of drinks while we were waiting which was annoying as that cost us over £76… yes we didn’t have to, but it was awkward sitting there with empty glasses for so long. We were told Oliver was in the kitchen which perhaps was why the front of house service was so slow? We didn’t see much other food come out so they didnt seem that busy. When it arrived, the food was very good. However we were missing one meal! We ordered 2x sausage and mash and we only got one. We had to start eating as we were so starving so my daughter had to wait while they sorted it out. When it came it looked very thrown together and didn’t look the same as the other beautifully presented meal. After that all the staff disappeared at the bar. We were given pudding menus but no one came to take our order for desserts or coffees. This was disappointing as I had said on the booking it was for a birthday. After a while we decided to cut our losses and get coffees and Brandies at home. We found someone to ask for the bill but no one came back with it so had to ask a young girl cleaning tables. We paid £22.79 for service which was added to the bill we didn’t think the service was worth it but we paid it anyway as we had guests so didn’t want to make a fuss. Anyway it was such a shame as we’ve been to Running Mare and enjoyed it. I’ll keep an eye on the reviews to see if it improves before we book again. I regret booking it as it cost us over £200.

What an excellent Sunday Roast we had yesterday! There was 9 of us for lunch and everyone left very satisfied! Brilliant all round!

The Seven Stars has recently been taking over by new management. A young man named Oliver has taken it over with lots of experience in the pub world! The food and the staff were brilliant and all trained very well! The food was fantastic, with lots of options to choose from including great 'specials '. The service was great and everything was served on time and quickly. We were a table of 9 people, a family lunch before Christmas and it was so cosy, christmassy and warm inside. The perfect vibe for a pub on a winters day. I thought everything was faultless and I cannot wait to go back very soon! 5*s from me and my family!

I visited with friends after hearing about its new management and refurbishment. The venue advertised itself as dog friendly and my partner and I brought our little dog with us and we were looking forward to enjoying a pre Christmas meal together with our friends. Upon arrival, we were surprised to be told that dogs were not allowed in the area where our friends were already seated, despite the Pub promoting itself as dog friendly. The staff’s response was unwelcoming, argumentative and somewhat hostile. Thankfully a table became available in the bar area, where dogs are allowed and we were relocated. The initial setback was followed by another disappointment when the nut roast I had ordered for lunch, arrived frozen in the middle. Despite the less than ideal dish, I chose not to draw attention to it due to the earlier difficulty with our dog, needless to say, the nut roast was inedible. What stood out the most, however, was the poor customer care and unfriendly demeanour of the waiter. It was disheartening to feel so undervalued as customers. While my friends enjoyed their meals, the overall experience left much to be desired. I hope that the management takes customer feedback seriously, addressing issues with clear dog friendly policies, food quality and customer service to ensure a more pleasant experience for future patrons. There are lots of pubs in the area to choose between and I’m not in a rush to return to The Seven Stars, Send.

What a hidden gem!!!. Passing through on route to a show in Woking and what a pleasure it was. Food was perfect service and greeting was excellent. After the managers recommendation I had the meatball linguine and just wow . We shall be back !….
