El Lechon Ilustrado - Guanajuato

This is a great centrally located place to meet up and enjoy a hot coffee or tea. Very laid back and unique ambiance. Very nice staff. Though not well-known for its kitchen menu, we stopped in for beer and a late dinner one night and the food was surprisingly good!!

My wife & I ate at El Lechon Ilustrado today for lunch. It's a small little place with no signage (other than a wooden pig emblem above the door). The inside is set up like a coffee shop, with a wall full of books & games to play. In the back is a simple kitchen, set up like at home. The dishes are all made 100% by hand, on the spot. We watched as the couple that runs the place would pop out for groceries. We ordered a number of items, and pretty much everything was very good, but nothing is wow. The prices are fantastic though. And, the service is good. So, 4-stars for food, 4-stars for service, 4-stars for ambiance, and 5-stars for pricing.

A big variety of hot teas and also to relax reading a book with a few shelves with a diferent kind of books and they have vegetarian food but they need more advertising at the entrance because the only way to know is if you enter .very kind and nice service.

This place is awesome. Food is tasty and fresh. Service may seem a little slow, they need more staff. Even though, kind and nice service and food to enjoy.

If you don't mind uppity and condescending service, you'll feel right at home here. However, the selection of foods (especially vegetarian foods) is great here, which keeps El Lechon Ilustrado begrudgingly on my list of spots that I visit in Guanajuato. The tea menu is impressive, but not all teas on the menu are in stock.
