Porta San Giorgio Cafe - GROTTAGLIE

Wanted something light to eat. Found a nice selection of salads at this delightful location. Owners lived in London and speak English.

On a visit to explore the ceramics factories we found this place by chance and liked it so much we stayed there to have lunch . The owners are very friendly and make you feel so welcome. Food was good and reasonably priced not a big selection but that was a positive as it was clearly made to order. We will definitely pop in here every time we visit Grottaglie .

If you want to have a nice walk to the mountains from Taormina, you can try to go to Castelmola. The way there is tricky if you are not sure of your health condition take a bus, as the road goes up and up and up, in the end with a lot of stairs. But once you are there, you find a lovely small town with a great small cafe with fantastic views to the Taormina city and to the sea. We were there in the mid day, but definitely in the evenings this place is charming. Why don't you try if you are around!
