Subway - Groton

I visited Subway tonight and Mary C has made it my favorite location to come to. She was incredibly friendly and welcoming, and went out of her way to assist me with my order. Good customer service is hard to come by nowadays, but Mary truly made my day! I hope Subway hires more employees like Mary. Thank you, Mary, I'll see you on Thursday.

The staff at this restaurant are young girls who seem more concerned with their Facebook than providing good service, and they are very rude.

Recently, while waiting in line at Walmart, I spoke with a former coworker who had been fired for wearing braids in her hair. She revealed that she was paid under the table at a rate below minimum wage, which is illegal. Other employees also shared similar experiences of working illegally under the table while being underage, which violated labor laws for minors in Connecticut. The treatment of employees, particularly women, at this Subway location was discriminatory and racist. Management often hired young, attractive females in high school, and I personally experienced inappropriate behavior from my manager. The store's cleanliness standards were extremely low, with insects and rodents present. I routinely had to deep clean the store because it was left dirty for weeks. Failing to hire an exterminator, I was told to swat away flies that infested the store. I often encountered mice and had to clean moldy water from underneath the proofer. Despite my hard work, other coworkers would slack off, leaving me to handle most of the tasks. I have photos documenting the unsanitary conditions I had to deal with on a daily basis. Overall, my experience working at this Subway in Mystic was disappointing. I hope that they improve their treatment of employees and operate their business more ethically in the future.

Pretty much the go-to place to eat when you want a quick bite within walking distance of Electric Boat. I usually go here when it's not normal hours and the cafeteria and food trucks are not operational. The place is usually pretty empty so the service is fast. The people working here are generally friendly as long as you are courteous also. If you like Subway, you will get what you are expecting from this location!
