Village Grille - Grosse Pointe Farms

It is surprising how few places are open in Grosse Pointe on a Sunday afternoon, but we managed to find Luxe today and were grateful for it. Warmly welcomed, we sat at the bar for drinks and a meal. My friend ordered an Old Fashioned and I decided to follow. Our bartender made them to order and they were perfect and delicious. Nicely mixed, nicely garnished and perfect ice cubes. For main, I chose the chicken wings. Quite meaty and not drenched in sauce, they had a reasonable amount of heat and the small pot of bleu cheese actually had bleu cheese crumbles sprinkled on top. A nice touch. My friend had a burger and polished it off, declaring it delicious. Overall, a good experience that was enjoyed. [Review 17976 overall 369 in Michigan 1497 of 2022.

I have been wanting to check this place out for quite some time. Well that day finally came! I stopped in for a bite to eat and a drink. I really enjoyed the ambiance of Luxe. They had just opened when I got there, which was nice because I got to chat with the staff for a while. It got busy as my time went on.. I nibbled on some nachos and enjoyed a whiskey sour. I will definitely be back!

I love this place. Great food and great service especially from Graham! He is an excellent server and makes TERRIFIC Manhattans!

Luxe is a frequent takeout option for me, which is funny because their barely functional website won't pull up a menu more than half of the time. Having eaten inside only once a year or so ago for my first visit, I didn't take away any particular impression. It was the standard upscale bar experience. Still, when i call in an order I already know I'm going for a classic burger and fry combo of some sort. It's a pretty damn expensive burger and fry combo. I think I end up spending close to $30, but it's honestly really really good. It's by far my favorite burger anywhere on this side of town. I'm not too keen on a lot of their other menu items. Nothing is bad, it's just that nothing else really seems to really slap that hard for the price... I take that back. The ahi tuna salad I got once looked almost as bad as the one pictured here on Yelp. That aside, whatever, this place is a fantastic burger and fries for me. I think I've tried every burger on this side of town and even with the price hike, I'll still just keep coming back to Luxe for another.

Service was great. But let 's get to the food. Meh. Sadly, my burger buns were crumbly/grainy, Brioche buns are soft, I 'm guessing I was served a stale one or over toasted. The burger meat could use a little seasoning, yes you can use some especially if you aren 't using quality cuts for the patties. The Their French onion soup isn 't bad. Calamari is best as rings and tentacles not the rectangles that they serve here blah!! For a luxe place, null on the food.
