フィードバックを提供するOur family of four just had our first meal of the year here! The owner (or manager maybe) stopped at our table and had conversations with our kids. She even packed our leftovers for us. Everything was delicious. It's going to be a great year. Happy 2024!
Casual Chinese and Vietnamese restaurant in the Westbank. We got the make your own spring rolls with beef and shrimp. It was soo good. Service was fast.
9 Roses has been a Grena/Westbank jewel for many decades. One cannot go there enough. It has a great ambiance and service always good. There are many time honored dishes that we are over the decades. The Thai seafood salad, string beans with shrimp, eggplant shrimp dishes are couple of things to mention but this would be a very long review if one goes into talking about different offerings. So, just go there and have feast. My family intentionally over orders to be able to carry a lot of leftovers to take home for next days.
I do think 9 Roses suffers a little in quality because they do too many things. With a menu this big, not everything can be a hit. I get better Chinese at restaurants that are specifically Chinese. Same with Vietnamese. I've never had anything bad here, but nothing is so overwhelmingly good that I go back for it. I go here typically if I'm with someone who likes Chinese but not Vietnamese so we can each get our preference. Pricing is a bit steep compared to other Asian restaurants on this side of the river.
I was in New Orleans and was really craving authentic Vietnamese food. We ordered the Canh Chua (sweet and sour catfish soup), Ca Kho To (caramelized catfish), with the Bò Tái Chanh (Lemon Medium-Rare Beef). Everything was so fresh and delicious. The star of the show was the canh chua, with the perfect balance of sweet and sour. The menu selection had a lot of diverse traditional Vietnamese food, from the typical Pho that you would see. Highly recommend and will be coming back!
