You place your order at the counter and then find a seat while they prepare your food. My meal took about 20 minutes to arrive. While it was tasty, I wish it had been served a bit hotter. The fries were good too, but they were also on the lukewarm side. I’d rate it four stars, but I deducted one for the slow service. I did notice the chef coming out to assist with getting food to the tables, which was a positive sign. If I’m in the area again, I would definitely give them another shot.
There was plenty of seating both indoors and outdoors, and we were lucky enough to enjoy the sunset during our dinner. Although the food took longer to arrive than we had anticipated, it was well worth the wait. I ordered the cheese ravioli, which might sound simple, but it was actually a gourmet delight! It came with five large raviolis in a rich parmesan cream sauce, accompanied by peas and bacon. I ended up splitting this dish into two meals since the cream sauce was fairly rich. Each entree also included a complimentary side salad. I chose the gourmet greens as my side salad, and it was incredibly fresh, featuring a fantastic mix of blue cheese, almonds, cranberries, and balsamic vinaigrette. I also sampled the corned beef cabbage. The corned beef was incredibly tender, and while I only had a few bites, I found it savory and delicious! And the Classic Reuben? Absolutely fantastic! The corned beef was delicious, and it came with fries, making for a satisfying meal.
This sandwich and salad shop offers counter service with plenty of seating both inside and outside. It’s conveniently located just a short walk upstairs and across the street from the pedestrian bridge over the Reedy River near Main St/Wyche Pavilion. The exterior signage isn't huge, but the full tables of diners outside made it clear we had found the right place. The menu features a wide selection of hot and cold sandwiches and salads, with options that range from classic to creative, all customizable to your liking. Side options include chips, French fries, pasta salad, potato salad, coleslaw, and more. What surprised us the most was the selection of beer. They had a good variety of craft beers in cans and bottles, all reasonably priced at around $4-5. They also serve wine by the glass or bottle, and it was convenient that the beverage options were displayed clearly. After we placed our order, we received a number to put on our table so waitstaff could find us when our food was ready. Initially, we thought it would be helpful to wait for our drinks at the counter, but the staff preferred that patrons be seated and let them serve directly to the table. Our food arrived in a reasonable timeframe—not too quick, but not unreasonably long. We decided to split the Ribeye Philly Cheesesteak, and it looked so delicious when it came that we let the waitstaff leave before requesting an extra plate. Although the servers aren’t constantly walking around, so we did have to walk back to the counter for our initial drinks, the slight inconvenience is more than worth it for the delicious food they’re preparing behind the scenes.
I frequent this place with my coworkers a lot for lunch. It's pretty easy, quick, and food is pretty much consistent. My go to is the half rottiserie chicken with a side salad and I know that it's always going to be good. The salad portions are big enough for at least two meals. The fries are always good and seasoned well. You can also order 3 different side items as your meal. And they have different options which are all good. If you're wanting some dessert they have a case with cupcakes and pies. I've never really tried any of the desserts but they look yummy. They tend to get busy during the lunch hour rush but their service is very quick. Parking can be a hassle since they are downtown. There's a parking lot next to them but with very limited space. There's a pay parking garage across the street and I believe the first hour is free.
While the food is great and it's one of the few quick lunch spots downtown, the employees ALWAYS have attitudes! I mean I've genuinely never been here and dealt with a friendly person. It's also a little off putting that the bread is stored right outside the bathrooms...
