Laid-back vibe, good wine, indoor and outdoor open seating, can buy by the glass or bottle or little tasting boards, snacks available for purchase. $5 reservation fee required, as a token you get to keep your wine glass. Also, some of thesenegative reviews are outdated and complaining about covid regulations which are no longer in place as of my visits in spring andsummer of 2022.
Pretty vineyard with expansive lawn. Unfortunately it?s hard to have a pleasant experience with the way the winery is ran. As stated by others the reservation fee is an absolute joke. Wine is below average for the North Fork and it?s not at all awelcoming relaxing environment due to the treatment by staff and ownership.? The lady with the pink hair needs a vacation? plusone to this from the review below.
Wanted to love but the lady who was there for the wine tasting just kept telling us about prices and the more we taste the more it'll cost. My dad asked to read the label and got so much attitude. We just wanted to learn a bit of the wine and enjoy the vineyard but were only there 15mins total. Left very disappointed.
Great wine beautiful location, sadly I cancelled my weekend reservations for our party of 5 as well as cancelled my long running wine club membership. Upon confirming my reservations online I noticed a blurb stating all guests must be fully vaccinated. I called Kontakosta to make sure this was current information and to inquire if perhaps they would take proof of a negative test. Unfortunately that's not an option per the owners. They offered to ship my wine order instead of of me picking it up however since I am clearly not allowed to enter the facility, I politely declined, requested to make sure I am not charged for the order I cancelled and to completely cancel my wine club membership. With over 40 wineries on the North Fork I will take my friends and my business elsewhere. In the meantime, I will continue wear a mask, test weekly and know that I have natural antibodies from having Covid through bloodwork while enjoying wineries where we are welcome. Just glad I noticed the fine print since Kontakosta did not notify us we are in not allowed to utilize the property and or wine club benefits. If not reading the fine print on the reservation and showing up just to be turned away it would have ruined our itinerary for the birthday girl. We now have reservations elsewhere and will enjoy our day without a Kontakosta stop
Went with 12 women, Got there and the ‘cop’ met me and my daughter at the curb of the parking lot and put a sign in front of us and said we couldn’t bring in anyone under 21( a 2 month old) that it was policy. So my daughter said it was ok, and I reluctantly went inside with the rest of the women. Once inside, the ‘cop’ called the Hispanic woman I was with a ‘trouble maker’ after she said this place has a lot of rules. It’s a way over-priced, self serve winery. They said we couldn’t move our tables together for our large group so we had to shout across to each other after waiting on a long line to buy the really expensive wine. The food they serve is marked up Trader Joe’s and of course, really expensive. There are so many family friendly wineries here on the north fork that I will be skipping this one. The design of the place is visually appealing, but that’s it. They need to get rid of the cop at the door. He really turned us off.
