It's excellent, I've been going here for years, the Greek church folks across the street agree with me!! The lady who works there is awesome, knows my voice, my order, and maybe because I always tip she throws in a cookie!!
Grew up with this place! I always loved it! Consistent great food. Super nice family! if you go there alot they will occasionally throw in free egg rolls soup or something, But my family has been getting take out there for years since I was a kid! lol
The restaurant is located in the Greenlawn Plaza strip mall. It’s a small space with only a few tables inside, so it doesn't really have a dine-in atmosphere; it’s more suited for quick service. They handle a lot of takeout and delivery orders. When we order for pickup, the food is typically ready in about 20 minutes, and everything is prepared fresh in large woks. Contrary to someone else's review mentioning flies, I have never encountered such an issue. In fact, I find that claim hard to believe. While the place is small and the building is a bit older, it is always clean. The staff wears hair nets and hats, which is more than I can say for most of the restaurants I visit. The couple who runs the restaurant is friendly and hardworking, always there with a smile. However, due to a noticeable language barrier, they tend to keep conversations brief. The wife manages the phone orders and knows the menu well, but if you have special requests, it may take a moment to sort out—so patience is appreciated, as she truly tries her best. We have never experienced any mistakes with our orders, never been overcharged, and our food always arrives hot and fresh, with no leaks from the cartons. They offer some great deals on orders over certain amounts: for $25, $40, and $60, you can receive freebies such as a quart of wonton soup, 2L of soda, 2 egg rolls, or a large entrée for orders over $60. Additionally, they have combination meals available for dinner at about $9, which is quite rare, with a dozen or more options. This is a perfect choice if you're not a fan of leftovers or if you're ordering for just one person. Each combination comes with fried rice and an egg roll. Some of my favorite dishes include the boneless spare ribs, which are sweet, sticky, and have a nice charred crispness. My dog goes crazy for these (yes, she gets some!). The Singapore Mei Fun features a variety of ingredients: julienne veggies, scallions, chicken, slivers of ribs, and small shrimp. The noodles are always perfectly cooked and have a great flavor without being too spicy. The portions are generous, often stuffed to the brim! The chicken in garlic sauce is a bit on the spicy side, but as someone with a low heat tolerance, I find it just right. Don't let the spicy icon on the menu deter you. Despite the name, there's not an overwhelming amount of garlic; just enough minced garlic is added to the sauce to enhance the flavor without making it taste too garlicky. The dish is packed with vegetables like broccoli, snow peas, baby corn, water chestnuts, and green peppers, all served in a light, sweet brown sauce that doesn’t overpower the dish. I appreciate that none of the dishes are drowning in sauce, allowing the veggies to stay slightly crisp. The wonton soup is excellent, with a flavorful, savory broth and tender dumplings that retain their texture. The dumplings have a nice meat filling with some minced water chestnuts for added crunch. They always include thinly sliced scallions which enhance the broth, along with a bag of crunchy wonton strips—though they aren’t necessary. My husband always orders the hot and sour soup, even in the summer heat. The egg rolls are plump and crispy, filled with the typical shredded cabbage and meat mixture. They use thicker wrappers that are rough and bubbly, fried until extra crispy. While I think they’re better than average and I enjoy them, I wouldn’t say they’re the best I’ve ever had. The fried rice can be a little inconsistent—sometimes it lacks peas, onions, and diced ribs, or it may be slightly overcooked. Other times, it's spot on and full of flavor. My mother-in-law loves this place too and always orders the fried dumplings, requesting extra dipping sauce because it’s delicious, along with the boneless spare ribs, which she swears by as an extremely picky eater. I highly encourage anyone in the area to give this restaurant a try for lunch or dinner!
The food here is quite good. I ordered the sweet and sour shrimp, chicken with broccoli, and fried chicken wings. Everything was flavorful and delicious. There's also plenty of parking available.
