Carter Rye - Green Meadows

Love visiting their storefront despite the limited open hours. I also sometimes catch them at the Sunday farmer's market in Aksarben. I always crave their savory hand pies, and got a cheese and ham one this time. A little pricey at $8 each (the sweet ones are $5 each), but absolutely worth the indulgence every now and then. I appreciate that they have new flavors every week, and that they sell both ready-to-eat hand pies and frozen hand pies to take-and-bake as well.

First tried them a couple times in the farmers market then realized they had a brick and mortar shop. What!! We went down there this morning and it was so good! The 2 gals working were so kind and wholesome. Hand pies were great as always and love the rotating menu! If you like a nice warm way to start the day this is you place!

I have driven past this adorable little place so many times and finally stopped by! It was fantastic! The women who own it were so friendly and welcoming and don't get me started on the pies...they were absolutely delicious! Like melt in your mouth, think you're in heaven kind of delicious. I got the chorizo, brown sugar cinnamon, blueberry apple crisp, and puppy chow hand pies. Every single one was SO good! 10/10 recommend!

Absolutely delicious. The crust is flaky and buttery. Every flavor I've had, whether savory or sweet, has been delightful. Happy to support a neighborhood business!
