Royal Oak Rooms From 49 - Great Barford

I had a wonderful experience at the Royal Oak. The accommodations were superb, with secure gated parking, clean and air-conditioned rooms, a spotless bathroom, and amenities like a fridge, freezer, microwave, and kettle. It had everything I needed to weather the lockdown. I initially booked for a month but ended up staying for three, which speaks for itself. In addition to the great accommodations, there is a small post office and a charming cafe with a patio. Plus, there are scenic countryside walks right at your doorstep.

I stayed at this hotel just before closing time and found the facilities to be great. I felt that my belongings were safe in both the room and the locker room. However, the interior décor was lacking and the mattress was old and strongly colored. It seemed like the carpets were not cleaned regularly. There were no backup keys or fobs available at the front desk, which was inconvenient for someone like me who tends to forget things. I had to ask multiple times to be let into my room, which was frustrating. This experience made me feel like I was not being treated with respect. While this issue did not happen again during my stay, I believe that it was unacceptable and no guest should be treated like this for a simple human error. The hotel should have a better system in place to ensure that guests can access their rooms without inconvenience.

The public house is great with friendly and polite staff.

This is an incredible place to stay! Gary and the staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean and comfortable with beautiful nature views. The food path surrounding the area is stunning and relaxing. If you're lucky, you may even spot some rabbits running in the nearby field.
