Customer service out the window, just there to make pizza apparent and couldn't even do that right . While I understandGrimaldis coal Brick Oven Pizza theme, I wasn't expecting my pizza to be lukewarm or to taste like tar. Clearly this is thislesser of the brand's location. In general I just want people to get back to customer service , it goes a long way. I will notbe back .
I ordered a small house salad with vinaigrette dressing ($8), which arrived in a diminutive bowl. However, don’t be deceived by the size of the bowl; it contained enough salad to serve four people. The vinaigrette dressing was simply a mix of oil and vinegar. I also ordered an 18-inch pizza with pepperoni, jalapeños, and mushrooms ($27). Overall, the salad was decent, and the pizza was quite good. If you enjoy expensive thin-crust pizza with gourmet toppings and pricey salads, this is the place for you. Just make sure to bring along three or more friends to help share the cost.
The pizza was soggy when it arrived at the table. In my opinion, there were too many toppings, which made it difficult to achieve a crispy crust. I ordered The Don, the Bruschetta Trio, and the Cocoa'nana cheesecake. I could hardly eat the pizza with my hands because it was so wet. Additionally, the restaurant seemed to have a fly issue, with flies of all sizes buzzing around. The bruschetta was neither outstanding nor terrible, but the cheesecake was really delicious.
The restaurant had a classy and appealing ambiance. I had heard great things about their pizza, so I decided to give it a try. However, the crust of the thin pizza was unexpectedly hard, resembling tough, chewy bread, and the flavor was just average. The Margherita pizza was better than the pesto pizza. On a negative note, I was charged $5 for chicken topping on only half of the pizza, and I wasn't informed of this charge when I requested the topping. To make matters worse, we found a paper packet, possibly containing salt or pepper, inside the pizza crust. Given all these issues, I found the pizza to be overpriced, with a significant price-value discrepancy. The prices are even higher than some of the best pizza places in Chicago! Ultimately, neither the quantity nor the quality of the pizza justified the amount I paid.
The restaurant had a stylish and attractive ambiance. I decided to try their pizza after seeing such positive reviews. However, I found the thin crust to be excessively hard, reminiscent of overcooked bread, and the flavor was just average. The Margherita pizza was better than the pesto option. On the downside, I was charged $5 for chicken as a topping, but I wasn't informed about the cost when I requested it. To my surprise, I also found a paper packet of either salt or pepper in the pizza crust. Overall, I felt the pizzas were overpriced, with a significant gap between price and value. They were even more expensive than some of the top pizza places in Chicago! Unfortunately, neither the quantity nor the quality of the pizza justified the price I paid.
