The Candied Yam - Grand Rapids

The atmosphere and service was great. But the food is not the best mainly the sides. No cheese flavor on the mac cheese. Cabbage collard greens were not seasoned very bland. Meatloaf was dry no flavor. The cornbread and yams were ok.Food: 1/5

Great food and friendly service! Awesome if you’re looking for a fast, great lunch that doesn’t sacrifice on comfort or flavor. Not the fanciest of utensils, but it fits the food well. Would come again!

The food here was excellent. Everything tasted well made and had lots of flavor. The portions are rather small for the price though. The desserts were very sweet but tasted good. Service was a 3/5 but gives small, friendly business vibes. Would recommend carry out over dine in personally but overall seemed clean and good food!

If you're in the mood for some good, home-styled, Southern comfort food, this is your jam.Dont let the unassuming store-front in a strip mall scare you off. The food we tried (Fried chicken and mac and cheese), was as good as you can find around town.There are some tables in the front area, and a side room that's built for hosting larger groups and small events (stage and all), but it's not going to be mistaken for moms living room. That being said, whats lacking in comfort, is more than made up for in the food, and the amazing owner.Jessica Ann is so welcoming, and warm, and comforting. I just want to give her a hug everytime I see her. Give her, and this place, a try, wont be disappointed.Parking: Large strip mall, plenty of parking

I ordered from then through Uber Eats. The mac and cheese had very little cheese, the cat fish was way too salty. They gave me two heart shaped pieces of corn bread the size of a quarter. I will not be ordering from them again.
