7 Mares - Grand Rapids

I remember a long time ago when I lived in the area, I stopped by this restaurant to order some food and waited for it. I noticed they had a jug of tequila on the counter, and the lady offered me a small shot glass of it while I waited. After refusing a few times, I eventually decided to try it for the first time. It was a surprising experience – I made a face, and the lady chuckled a little.

Came in for lunch today (very hungover) and got their spicy shrimp dish (camarones a la diabla) — and I am STILL thinking about it hours later. It put a spell on me it was that good. It cured my hangover with its spicy magic. I could taste the love. Going back very soon for more.

I absolutely love 7 mares! We always order catering from them for our work parties and family events. Tina, the owner, is a delight to work with. The food is amazing and the service is top-notch!

It's a wonderful find. The food was very good, and the seating area, although not new and chic, was very clean. But the best part was hospitality. Our server really made us feel welcome. When she heard that I wanted to keep some rests for lunch, she added some extras to make this lunch special. It was cold outside, but the food, the music and the hospitality made us feel that we were somewhere else.
