Russley Fish Supply - Governors Bay

Frequented this fish and chip shop for a long time with no complaints. Unfortunately, most recent trips have been sub-par. Phone ordering is difficult (no order number given, no timeframe for preparation offered). Upon arriving at the shop for pickup, staff often appear confused as to what your order is (presumably due to not offering an order number). I waited 25 minutes during peak order time (6pm Thursday) plus 10 minutes travel time after phone ordering. After waiting a while, I asked staff about my order, and found out it had been sitting in the hot-hutch on the counter for 15 minutes despite me being in the shop waiting. Chips were oily and undercooked, and left a sour taste in the mouth. Gave this establishment a fair go, ordering again a few weeks later only to have the same outcome. Cleanliness of the shop was average and about what you would expect for a fish and chip shop, although the food issues and smell indicate a need to change their oil more frequently. Will not be back.

I sent them a message months ago about some undercooked scollaps I purchased ....that made me sick. Nobody got back to me at all. I will NEVER recommend or shop here again, they obviously don't care about their customers..or I would have been rung, with at least some sort of reason or apology. Bluff oysters were a little small, however cooked well. Blue cod was fresh and batter great. Chips perfect Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4
