WAllarah Bay recreation club - GOROKAN

We were there for dinner and decided to join ($12) as the member discounts were worthwhile. There were 6 of us for dinner and everyone loved their meals - baked dinner, vegie pasta bake, chicken dish, steaks, popcorn chicken. We went over to the cafe and had a cuppa and dessert. The only disappointing item was the Rocky Road Sundae which consisted of hard compound like chocolate and the kids didn't like it. We were hoping for some nice soft chocolate. Staff go out of their way to assist and the staff at the door make you feel welcome straight away. Was not our first time and won't be the last ...thank you !

I don't normally write a bad review but considering the fantastic location of this club the bistro itself is a let down. Our party of 6 came here for Sunday lunch and we had to wait a very long time for our meals to arrive. The food is over priced unless you opted for the "specials" - we won't be back for a meal.

We called in for lunch and were surprised that the menu was expensive for the club scene.The receptionist was too busy looking at a screen to acknowledge us and just pointed. Probably not a good introduction to the club for visitors.The baked meal from the bistro was disappointing ,however the Caesar salad from the cook section was very good. to get drinks you had to walk a fair distance and with a small disability this was a stretch.The staff were very friendly and helpful.probably would recommend because of the view only.

A group 0f 10 for lunch, most purchased the Bistro Specials, reasonably priced, BUT the food was cold. Staff notified who replaced a couple of the meals, BUT again COLD. Whats wrong with their Bain Marie. Council food inspectors would not be happy with food not being a certain heat.

Unfortunately the only thing now going for this club now is the view. As members for the past 7 years who used to frequent this club at least once a week, with each visit in the last 2 years, can only be described as a vast let down. The Dish dining restaurant which once was a fantastic place to eat with a great menu & a variety of dishes, is now nothing short of dismal. The everchanging turnover of chefs hasn't done them any favours either. Quite a few of the staff are now rude & not at all accommodating & a select few really should not be in the hospitality industry. Meal sizes & quality of food has diminished. We have continued to return to this venue in the hopes that it will once again be the club we once knew. There are also no more incentives for members such as birthday vouchers, free drink with meal etc unless you are a gold member, mind you we previously received these vouchers on a regular basis. It's such a shame & we hope that one day we will be able to enjoy visiting & dining here again but for now it's a huge no...
