Hotel Chennys Gateway, Salem, India

Recently visited Hotel Chennys Gateway’s restaurant Aroma for dinner with my friends. The hotel in general is a star category hotel in Salem. They maintain the ambience in a cool and clean way, though the hotel is in the midst of busy city. The restaurant, Aroma is nice place for having food with a leisure time with friends and family. The non vegetarian platter is a mix of fried chicken, mutton and fish. The taste is very good. My favourite Pulkit tastes very nice. Ample car parking space. It’s really a great enjoyable dinner.

Sorry to say, but guys you have totally lost your charm. It's not the same anymore, as it was used to be before !!! Please do look on it and improve. Competition is getting tougher.

Our Hotel Stay. No iron box , No Microwave , dull lighting for pseudo elegance, hardly of any lighting use. Oddly enough, the restrooms are having bright white LEDs. Laundry service is completely unpredictable time wise and quality wise,”just 2 minutes” is the consistent response always, un related to actual timings. In case you gave your last pair of clothes, for laundry, tough luck. The Refrigerator cannot even hold a 16 OZ container. None of the lockers in any room actually work. No hot coffee/Tea , repeated complaints , just attracts round nod, “just 2 minutes” But the same old.. Luke warm milk for kids is brought in a flask..and hot coffee/tea is luke warm. Only one soap kept. No hand towels. Bath towels are dull white and worn out. AC will not work unless you keep it on high speed, I discovered after my stay. Swimming pool closed, Maintenance work and dust on some floors. Each time a different person will do room service. No sense of ownership, and reasonable so, as MOST employees are paid utterly low wages (Rs 8,500 or $120 a month), even by market standards, which is already low. WiFi, not secured. You connect to it without password, then you connect to it in browser with user name and password. The fire exits are blocked on each floor,NOT just temporarily..ALWAYS

The restaurant served delicious seafood that was hot and the staff provided excellent service, making the meal delightful. The open area overlooking the swimming pool, with a gentle breeze, made us feel like we were in heaven. We would like to give special acknowledgment to Chef Mr. Surendran and Manager Mr. Anand.
