Dà Kōng Cafe - 宮城県

I had lunch here once three years ago, and I came back for lunch again after a long time. I remember enjoying the very carefully prepared dishes during my last visit, but this time I tried the "One Plate Lunch" which seems to have evolved even further. The river fish quiche, mushroom gratin, bracken rice, and smoked tofu served with the salad were all exquisite. The dessert and herbal tea were also very delicious. It was a collection of dishes that truly warmed my heart. The presence and conversation of the lovely young lady, who was not there three years ago, added an extra touch of comfort. It is a wonderful café.

Whenever I visit Zao, I always stop by this cafe for tea. The owner apparently renovated his childhood home himself and turned it into his favorite cafe. The garden is full of seasonal flowers and is very soothing. The homemade cakes by the owner are delicious. In addition to tea, you can also have lunch here. I love spending tea time surrounded by antique furniture and country-style interior while looking out at the garden.

The cake looked delicious so I decided to drive to it on a whim. Arriving at Toogatta Onsen, I headed to that cafe with the tasty looking cake!! But wait, it's closed? Checking the website, it said "currently closed". Oh no, what a mistake ˚‧· ´ฅωฅ｀ ‧º· And it's uncertain when it will reopen. I will dream of the day the store reopens and keep it as one of the pleasures in my life. o ˙꒳​˙ o
