Green Star Coffee - Goleta

Professional place. Been a barista in Kauai for 5 years at a cafe where you get to know the source/ roaster and it inspired me to always try roasters in west coast. So far this place wins for price and quality. Tried many places between Seattle and SD. So far only tried the lightest and the Italian. But wow.Bean is obviously freshly roasted with consistent color and size throughout (no pieces). They have a wide variety of high quality ORGANIC and FRESH ROASTED coffee at a killer price. Highly recommend, it beats my local goto place where many swear by them. Will return.

This place is sick. FYI this is not a coffee shop, you can buy beans here, and the beans...are chef kiss magical. I had a cup of Joe at this random mom and pop shop, and I swear, best f cup of coffee I had in a minute. Drove fifteen minutes north to buy 3lbs of whole Italian roast, no regrets.

This place does cold pressure espresso drinks. didn't get one because they had affagatto with carmela ice cream. They also have amazing donuts and pastries.

We drink their espresso blend every morning and it is my all time favorite. What I didn't know was that they also have tea! My husband bought me the loose leaf green tea for Christmas and I brew that every afternoon and it is SOOO GOOD. I love that I can support a small local business with delicious products!

I absolutely love GreenStar Coffee! I think I first discovered it at an Earth Day celebration more than 10 years ago and have been making visits to their warehouse roastery ever since then (warehouse pickup saves shipping costs! they offer everything to love when starting your day: Local fresh roasted coffee organic fair trade coffee. I like to get the whole beans and grind my own and usually go for the 5 pound bags. I have found they stay quite fresh in their packaging. There is nothing like opening a new bag. I wish I could capture that amazing aroma to share!! I have tried many beans and blends but our overall house favorite is Morning Star. It is easy on the pallet and good anytime. I also like to keep the Espresso blend on hand which is great and offers a nice kick. I have also enjoyed their teas and even get a small bag of decaf, which my parents love when they visit. It is always a pleasure to pick up the coffee and usually I am greeted by one of the owners, Dan, who is friendly and makes time for a chat. They do have all the safety protocols in place for Covid so you should not hesitate to order ahead swing by for a door pickup!
