Capriola - Golega

This restaurant was such a pleasant experience. I’m staying at the hotel so ate here a few times. Food is top top quality. Service is fantastic. Filip and Julia were the perfect hosts.

We had made reservations for dinner on our first evening in Golega well in advance of arrival. We knew things might be crazy to find a peaceful place to eat and we knew we would be jet lagged since we arrive in Portugal in the late morning of the day. Our table was to the far left by the windows and very quiet when we arrived at 7:30 pm. Our wait person was very personable and we got to know him better over our two day stay. He did an excellent job of giving both wine and dinner recommendations. From other reviews, I already knew I wanted to try the octopus. Let's just say it is BEST octopus I have ever eaten and I have eaten octopus in fine restaurant around Europe. It was fork tender and perfectly grilled. My husband had a veal dish that he also loved. We were SO impressed with the restaurant that we made reservations for the next night upon exiting. We were not disappointed on the second evening either. On the second evening we tried the chocolate molten muffin. Our waiter was able to come up with a special local desert wine (late harvest) that was a perfect with this yummy chocolate treat. Since we were staying at the hotel, we were delighted by choices for breakfast including fabulous fresh fruit (awesome mangos) and the many cakes/pastries of the area along with eggs both scrambled and done sunny side up. As with dinner, the breads were fantastic. One of the best breakfast we had in our ten day stay in Portugal.

Sim, os pratos são muito saborosos. E essa maçã desmoronar. Mas é dito que, também os funcionários são de uma bondade e cuidado que nos fazem sentir bem. Eu termino dizendo que o próprio espaço compõe o resto do ambiente para passar um dia muito agradável, tarde, fim de semana.

Provavelmente o melhor restaurante que estive nos últimos 5 anos
