Irene's Real Mexican Food - Globe

Our server was clearly the only one working hard that day, while two other servers stood at the counter talking the whole time. Our waitress was visibly busy—she had a cart loaded with food and drinks, and she was greeting customers left and right. At one point, a gentleman who appeared to be in a management position came out to clear some dishes and engage with other tables, but instead of assisting our waitress, he seemed to reprimand her despite her obvious effort. During her hectic shift, she accidentally dropped some glass bottles and cut herself, yet no one else on staff bothered to check on her. Even though she was hurt and visibly shaken, she immediately began apologizing to customers and placed a wet floor sign. Remarkably, she continued to serve with a smile. I asked her if she was okay, and while she maintained her cheerful demeanor, it was clear she was overwhelmed. Finally, someone came to assist with the cleanup, but during the entire situation, the two other servers did nothing. I also overheard our server being scolded multiple times. We made sure to leave her a generous tip, which I hope she appreciated. However, I don’t think we will return; even though the food was good, I can’t support a restaurant that treats its staff so poorly. To our amazing server, I give a solid 10/10—you are truly the sweetest person and deserve a much better workplace experience. As for the food, I’d rate it 3 out of 4; it was pretty much what you’d expect from a small-town Mexican restaurant. However, the atmosphere could use improvement—the building felt a bit run down and it was quite hot inside. I would have to rate the other staff a zero out of four; they should be ashamed of their behavior. Perhaps a change in management or the addition of more dedicated servers would help this place improve significantly.

Eddy was fantastic, and the food is consistently excellent. My wife and I live in Show Low, while my sister is in Globe. We make it a point to visit this restaurant every time we're in town.

I always make sure to stop here because the food is fantastic, and my waitress is consistently excellent!

The food was rather bland. The presentation was just as dull. I asked for a michelada with modelo, but I received a dos equis equivalent of it without being told of the substitution. I dislike dos equis. It wasn't a pleasant dining experience

The best salsa! And service. I live in Tucson and I’m considering driving to globe just to get some more salsa!
