The Hotel Colorado looks pretty and historically worth seeing, but be careful. It has gone down hills as it is under new management it is like a rock slide. The food is expensive and greasy, caution when you serve the room, they add the tip PLUS about $15.00 for a service fee. There are new hidden fees everywhere! You can hardly ever get the reception on the phone, and worse still, this woman Kellen will lie you in the case of a hat. They actually lost a suitcase held in the hotel that was somehow stolen or lost, never being restored.! What happened? Terrible a shame in any case
The hotel was perfectly clean. Even in transition, transporting beauty and history and inspiring. I've never been to such a romantic room. I was very impressed by every aspect of my stay. The bananas promote crepes and hashbrown casroles were delicious. The water was always hot, the room was always quiet and the radiators were a fun learning experience. Reception staff were very helpful. Ivy at the reception and Thomas the shuttle drivers were particularly helpful. Also a maintenance man with a big beard whose name I didn't catch. I loved their enthusiasm to share information about the hotel and the city. We were in room 441 and the view was perfect. One morning we saw mountain sheep on the hill and late one night we went to the hotel.
Angel at the reception ran my card 4 times bill me $50 everyone, told me that it was rejected, ran a second and a third card saying it rejected. I asked if she could use another reader because all three cards were good, she let me come to the back of the next line. I accepted my card all charges. It took a manager and supervisor to read the system correctly, all the fees that were applied. Nothing was offered to compensate, no excuse from Angel. I kind of ruined this hotel.
Angel at the front desk was so kind and friendly. She was always available to help assist and answer questions. Thomas is also a credit to your hotel. His deft driving skills and pleasant attitude was appreciated. The hotel itself is undergoing renovations so it's a bit noisy and antiquated, hence the deduction of 1 star but overall, it was our second visit and we will come back!
