I wanted to thank Vito, Friday afternoon I ask him if he could provide 8 trays for a Saturday noon memorial service. He delivered the goods with 5 stars. Food was great. He came through last minute. Thank you
My personal favorite is the Chicken Sorrentino, which features moist, tender chicken layered with thin slices of eggplant and prosciutto in a rich red sauce. Recently, my husband tried the Chicken Daniela, served over broccoli rabe with shrimp and thinly sliced fried potatoes drizzled in lemon sauce. All entrées come with your choice of pasta and sauce or a salad—definitely opt for the house salad; it’s divine and a well-guarded secret. I’ve attempted to replicate it, but I just can’t get it right! You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu, seriously. The pizza is crispy and delicious. Our favorite dessert is the grandma cake, which has a light, crispy crust. Owner Mario, who is married to Angela, truly knows how to make a perfect pizza and is undoubtedly the best around. Their son, Vito, manages the restaurant and does an excellent job. Vito's is a staple in Glen Cove and stands out among all other Italian restaurants and pizzerias. They won the 2019 Best of Long Island award in five categories, including wings, mussels, spinach pie, sausage and peppers sandwich, as well as the best dinner deal. Every Tuesday is pasta night, where you can choose from five or six different pasta dishes, soup or salad, plus dessert and coffee for just $12. Make sure to visit soon—tables fill up quickly! If you haven’t been to Vito’s yet, you’re truly missing out... trust me. I’m already looking forward to returning weekly.
My father is a big fan of Vito and orders from there at least once a week. I was also impressed during my two visits. However, the pizza was a bit too crispy for my liking — I tried the chicken parm slice and the baked ziti slice, and found the crust much thinner than other pizzas I’ve had. The ravioli was tasty, but unfortunately, it was overcooked. When I tried to cut it and pick it up with my fork, it fell apart before I could take a bite. The bread that accompanies the pasta was roasted quite a bit. On a positive note, the Caesar salad was excellent, and the gelato selection was impressive. Even though I was quite full, I couldn't resist indulging in a scoop of cookies and cream gelato.
The food is excellent! The calamari in "diablo" sauce is absolutely delicious. The frutti di mare is fantastic, and adding the arrabbiata sauce makes it even better!
