Shanta`s Puri Shop - Georgetown

The food is excellent, and the customer service is outstanding. The seating area is comfortable, and the hotel is conveniently located in the city. They offer a wide variety of local drinks, snacks, and dishes.

Food is always top notch! They can do a bit better on the atmosphere though

The food here is pretty good. However, the portions are smaller compared to a few other places that I visited with the same type of food/ atmosphere. As well, the employees need to pay a little more attention to the orders. For example; we've gotten roti instead of dhal puri more than once, we've requested dine-in and have been given to-go boxes. With that being said, the receipts also states what we've ordered and our preference of dine-in or take-out. I do recommend trying the food here.

Wonderful place offering authentic Guyanese food, from Curry to pastries and a whole lot more. Tourists should definitely check out this place.

I was so hungry that I forgot to take any photos, but let me tell you, the curry was absolutely delicious—I just couldn't stop eating! My colleague even suggested we should take a break. My favorite dish was the 7 Curries; it was a vegetarian option that offered a wonderful variety. We also ordered a chicken curry, mixed fried rice, and fried snapper, and everything was exceptional. The fried rice was different from what you might find at a Chinese restaurant; it wasn't greasy and was bursting with flavor—though not overly spicy. There were so many other dishes I wanted to try. The service was fantastic, and the staff were friendly and eager to help. I mention this because, honestly, I couldn't pronounce half of the menu items! If you find yourself in Georgetown, Guyana, make sure to give this place a visit.
