Skovshoved Kro - Gentofte

We went to Skovshoved kro without a reservation in advance and got lucky to get a table outside facing Strandvejen and a glimpse of Øresund. The portions were generous and tasted really nice, just like a home made meal would do, the service was friendly and the wine was quite affordable. Definitely will come back thank you for a cozy evening!

Nice place, with old fashion dishes at a great price. I got a country chicken which I was pleased with; the salat was ok, the dressing was good and baked potato was neat with a well seasoned butter. The chicken itself was backed in a regular Danish fashion. Overall great especially given the size (a healthy portion) and the 120 DKK cost.

Our local Kro the more inexpensive version of the hotel restaurant serves decent food at a reasonable price served with a smile and on fine days outsode with a small veiw to the sea.

Was taken to this fine establishment by a close friend on a visit to Copenhagen. Skovshoved Kro is situated in the very rich and posh area of Strandvejen just outside Copenhagen city. As you would expect this would make this a very expensive fine dining experience. As it were it was fine indeed and also very inexpensive and totally traditionally Danish. No fuss, just straight up hearty and big portion dishes of Danish meatballs with cold potato salad, succulent and tasty rotisserie chicken with skin on potato wedges, Stegt Flæsk (Fried Pork Belly with parsley sauce, Whole Plaice with butter sauce...whatever you like this menu has something for anyone who loves traditional Nordic cuisine at ridiculously affordable prices. 3 (big main courses and 3 large beers came in at just around £50, that's very good for that part of town. Also the establishment itself was cozy, warm and inviting with great friendly service. I heartily recommend it : .

Just went here for a drink after a round of golf on a nearby course. Very nice and “homey” feel to the place and the staff was very friendly. Looked like a place that would serve decent food as well.
