Café des Bains - Genève

Great food, very flavorful, must have one of each...we did and loved it!

A short walk from the lake, small and buzzy local restaurant . The service was friendly and efficient, tables close together with benches around the walls. The Menu was short , 3 choices in each section, and seasonal-there was also a specials board, but we were not offered it and only noticed when our next door neighbours had something different! The cooking was accomplished and presentation careful and attractive. For Geneva, prices were reasonable-2 courses and a bottle of wine for 2 was 200 chf.

Really recommend this place, the food is fabulous and the staff team really welcoming, well worth trying for great food and ambiance.

We (a family of 4 with a 3-yo and a baby) went here for lunch on a Friday. We were seated at the (very nice) patio, and although the restaurant would at the first glance not seem like a "family friendly" place (quite upmarket, lots of business people having lunch, no specific kids menu), the staff went out of their way to accomodate our children. From the design high chair to the beautiful plate the baby food was served in after being reheated and the perfect plate with a piece of fish, rice & vegetables that was served to our son, it was all great.And then our food! Beautiful fresh flavours, nicely presented, good portion size (not too big), and a delicious Pinot Grigio that paired well with the fish mains. Prices are quite steep (we paid 150 CHF for a 2-course meal for us plus a kid's plate & dessert, including wine), but the service and overall atmosphere are worth it. A gem!

We sat in the courtyard on a beautiful day. Our waitress was friendly and helpful. The menu was small but the food was excellent. We were surrounded by locals and enjoyed being immersed in real city life during our short stay in Geneva.
