I ordered an omelet for my wife and a BLT for myself, along with coffee. The omelet was beautifully cooked and served with a side salad. However, I was disappointed with my BLT which consisted of three thick slices of bread with chicken mixed with mayonnaise on one side, and lettuce and tomato on the other, with more salad on the side. The chicken portion was minimal and there was a lack of bacon, leaving me a bit disappointed.
Four of us visited the restaurant on a busy Bank Holiday Monday. Initially, there was only outdoor seating available, but we saw someone leave from an indoor table and quickly grabbed it. The waitresses promptly cleaned and set the table for us, even changing a seat that had been spilled on by the previous diner. We ordered a variety of meals and drinks from the counter, and the service to our table was fast. The food was hot and delicious, and we are always satisfied with our meals here. The staff are efficient and friendly, and we often take home some cake for later because the portions are generous and tasty. We highly recommend this restaurant.
I ordered a sausage sandwich for £4.30 and was disappointed to find a small roll with two sausages that weren't even cut in half. They didn't offer any sauce when I ordered. It definitely wasn't worth the money. I'll be spending my money at Morton's cafe next door when it reopens.
Popped in as the cafe next door was closed. Wanted a couple of sandwiches and drinks so sat down at a table and waited for a member of staff to come over. After 10 minutes, whilst staff had walked past us, no one had even acknowledged us so went to the counter to be told it wasn't table service. We hadn't been in before and didn't know that thanks for leaving us sitting there for 10 minutes! We order sandwiches and was surprised not to be asked about choices of bread/rolls etc. Unfortunately, we let that go and the sandwiches arrived on sliced white bread and were very dull. At this point, what looked like the Manager or owner started to put some of the chairs on tables and do some maintenance work on them so at that point, we decided to call it quits and go somewhere else. According to friends who live in the village, your experience at Jaspers depends on whether the Owner/Manager takes to you or not guess it wasn't our day!
I 've seen another review which says 'cheap food and poor quality ' and actually I completely agree. The breakfast and the smoothy were absolutely fine but nothing special and the produce used was pretty cheap tasting. The interior is exactly the same. At first glance a cozy place but then everything is cheap and uncomfortable. The cutlery was awful. They were cheap and flimsy but also the handles were sharply edged so cut into our hands as we were using them. Cheap and unpleasant. There was water on the side that we could help ourselves to. Great....but they issued plastic disposable cups. Our smoothies came in plastic cups....but no worries we had paper straws. Between us we had collected a pile of plastics which I hope are going into the recycling bin at least. Like I say, food was fine. Staff were nice. But a bit poor quality all round.
