This fabulous patio beer-pub is the best thing going by the water in a huge area: even folks in Ottawa don't know what they're missing. A big open air patio, lots of seating with umbrellas, superb view of the Ottawa river, Aylmer marina, sailboats, yachts, para-sailers, meanderers and cyclists. Music's not TOO loud, lots of buzz and decent beer prices (a jug of Moosehead under $20). The manager-ownwer is friendly and obliging. No complaints at all.

For a fun night of music, dancing and people watching (with good weather), this is a going place, with people of all ages having fun. That is the good part, the not so good part is the food, which this restaurant does NOT excel at! It is heavy on fried food, French fries in abundance and beer. Should you go, I suggest you take ear plugs and a few ant-acids, careful on the food orders and go with a group, as we did.Note, this restaurant automatically adds 15% tip on your food bill after taxes, whether the service is good or bad, so look at your food bill and do not add more tips.

My wife and I ate on the outdoor terrace after a pleasant day swimming at the Aylmer beach. The location is great. We both began with cocktails, the strawberry daiquiri and a pina colada. Both had good flavor and not too much ice. We then had apps, the bruschetta and the steamed mussels. Both were good but a bit pricey at $13 and $15 respectively. I have eaten many good plates of steamed mussels at fine dining Italian restaurants for $13, and bruschettas for less. We also ordered main courses which both had steak. We were told a few minutes later that steak was not available, so we switched to a chicken stir fry and a shrimp fajita. Both dishes meat portions were small, and the shrimp especially so given the price of $30. Please do not charge fine table cloth dining prices for a plastic table and chairs experience and average quality food, or stick to basic foods like hamburgers and fries.
