129 Bistro Mexicana - Gatineau

Its was good but if people expect real Mexican food please ! my dinner was good like other Canadian Mexican lots of cheese and suaces not spicy in anyway it is what it is, this is aylmer not Mexico

We stopped in for an early lunch. This is our second visit to the restaurant. Both times we have come away very happy. Food is very good, and the service is excellent - very pleasant people to deal with in French or English.

Some of the reviews almost stopped us from trying this restaurant but we were glad we ate here. A group of 6 of us were seated quickly and had nachos for an appetizer and then our main dishes. Fajitas and chimichangas were very good. The penne was not as good as the other dishes as the sauce was not that flavourful. Shared appetizers, two pints of dos XX and a main course was about $50 each. This is not Texas or Mexico good, it is a Mexican restaurant in Quebec. So my expectations were not too high but overall it was a good experience and we all said we would return.

We went there 3 times and every time we were disappointed. No More. We will never return there again. Every time we went there we were served food that was NOT FRESH nor was it HOT. It was cold, not even lukewarm.We told the waitress that our food was cold, she brought us back the same place, not warmed up at all. She was basically laughing at us. When we returned it a second time, she told us that we were being fussy. She wanted to charge us for NOT EATING the food after returning it for the third time AND it came back cold still. We said, We are leaving. She said, Not without paying you're not. We had not said a word about whether or not we were going to pay for the food we did not eat. but when she made this comment we decided that WE were not going to pay for the food we did not eat, because of her attitude. The waitress was the owner.'s wife. She was rude and quite sarcastic. BASICALLY THE MEXICAN FOOD THERE IS NOT PREPARED IN A MEXICAN FASHION, it does not taste like Mexican food. What a dump that was.

We were there with my husband and kids. We was looking for that piece of Latin flavour. That was no the right place.! Food was very cold, the rice and beans feeling freezed. No a really taste of Latin or Mexican food.The only thing is they have a beautiful patio in summer.
