Chow Chow - Gateshead

The absolute worst food. Ordered take away (daughter suggested it) came on time. The food was lukewarm if that. Son had ordered chicken breast... it was un recognisable... had been deep fried to a crisp. Chips were chewy. Chow roll (things) were like eating cardboard. On the whole..... the worst takeaway I've ever had and certainly would not recommend it

I have ordered from this restaurant a few times recently and have never been very impressed. However, I ordered delivery last weekend and it arrived 30 minutes later than the estimated time. The best part of the meal was the chips. The curry was average and something seemed to have changed with the sweet and sour dish. Overall, I was very disappointed. With another takeaway restaurant across the road and Ping-On and Golden Bird nearby, you would expect this place to maintain high standards. However, it seems like they have regressed in the past couple of months. I will be ordering from somewhere else in the future.

Used to be nice. egg foo young was not cooked and still runny. not be eating from here again. shame as we used to like it. not sure who is cooking the food now but must be a different chef

Ordered from here many times can be hit and miss depending what chef is on but generally food is spot on. Would recommend this place to anybody

I love Chow Chow; it's the only Chinese I go to (and there's loads to choose from round here! I cannot recommend it more! The box set meals are great; you get a meal with rice, 2 spring rolls and a can of pop for £5.50! The staff in the shop are great, there are often offers on the website for 10% off, and the food is lush. My only complaint is the few times I've opted for delivery instead of collection the order has been a little mixed up but who cares, cola instead of diet isn't a big deal. The food is always packaged well in white boxes, and the portions are very generous they squeeze a lot in!
