Gordo's Cafe - Gallup

I visited Gordo's for the first time and had a wonderful experience. The food was fantastic, and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Definitely try the tamales—they're excellent! Make sure to order a dozen for the full experience.

Since we have dogs and the outside temperature was hovering in the low 90s, we opted for takeout. Upon stepping inside, we were greeted by a team of cheerful waitstaff. We placed our order to go and found a spot at the counter to wait. They even offered us some water while we waited. The place was bustling with families coming and going, and the staff worked efficiently—it was clear they ran a well-organized operation. Now, onto the food! We headed down the highway to a rest stop with some shade and eagerly dug in. It was pure bliss! The fry bread was fresh and fluffy, while the burger was perfectly seasoned and cooked. Thankfully, the salsas came on the side; the red salsa was pleasantly spicy with a mild kick, but the green salsa was fiery hot—definitely more heat than we had anticipated! Gordo's is clearly a local favorite, catering to the surrounding community. However, if you're in the area and looking for fantastic food served with warm smiles, make sure to add Gordo's to your list!

I visited Gordo's in April while on a multi-day motorcycle trip and had a fantastic experience. The service was exceptional and the staff were very friendly. The food was delicious and expertly prepared; it had that comforting, flavorful quality that stays with you for years. I've been telling everyone I know about how great the food was and what a wonderful little eatery this is. Thank you, Gordo's! I will definitely be back!

Cozy spot. Excellent service. Yolinda was so sweet and very helpful. There was something for everyone and the portions were large. Glad we stopped here for lunch.
