Thai Basil - Fullerton

The lunch special is reasonably priced, but unfortunately, the food was quite underwhelming. The Penang chicken tasted bland and seemed like it came from a box rather than being homemade. I was very disappointed.

I went for lunch and ordered the shrimp with Chinese broccoli and noodles (Pad See Ew). It came with soup. I also tried the lunch special, which was teriyaki chicken with white rice, and ordered an additional white rice with spicy chicken (level 8).

It was one of those evenings when we didn't think we’d find anything, especially not a vegetarian spot far east. We drove around for a while, and luckily came across this place (possibly thanks to Yelp). I can’t believe I attended Cal State Fullerton and had never eaten here before!

The pad thai was excellent, and we ordered a vegetarian soup that was light and refreshing with a lemony flavor. We requested spice levels of 8 and 10, but it turned out to be more like a 2 and 4. While it was still tasty, it could have been spicier. The service was fantastic, and the prices were reasonable.
