Mariage - Fukushima

Probably a nice place with company and you're drinking wine.. personally it's not good. I've been to better wine bars were I both know the sommelier personally and to some were I hate the place and the master is awful and that's was even better than this.. slow service, no communication to guests. Probably a well informed sommelier but not a place to go to. No by yourself or date..maybe for an overpriced business dinner perhaps.. Not recommended.

When it comes to price per calorie, it's on the higher side, but the snacks I tried were delightful: an otōshi featuring a bite of tomato, a piece of soft cheese, and some greens; a dish of semi-dry marinated tomatoes, reportedly imported from Italy; and a cup of minestrone soup. I started with a glass of pinot noir that wasn’t listed on the menu and later enjoyed a unique cocktail called Hikarigaoka, inspired by a former employee of a university located in the Fukushima City area with that name. My total bill came to ¥3,153, which is just under $30 at current exchange rates. Unlike Wine and Gyouza Bar Terui (which I also reviewed) that serves good red wine chilled, Mariage prefers to serve theirs at room temperature. Both these places exceed my usual dining preferences, but I can see myself returning for an occasional visit in the future.

This is a lovely bar with charming details and delightful decorations on the cocktail glasses.

The restaurant features a wine bar with a good selection of wines, as well as cocktails, non-alcoholic beverages, whisky, and sake. The menu offers a variety of dishes, but it could benefit from a more extensive wine selection. At first glance, it may not seem impressive, but it grows on you. If you get the chance, be sure to chat with the passionate owner/sommelier about their wine offerings. The ambiance is lovely, making it a great spot for a romantic date.
