Shàn Shén - Fukui

Delicious food and a fantastic selection of sake. The owners, chefs, and customers are all very friendly. There isn't an English menu, but the lovely waitress speaks perfect English. This place is the real deal!

I visited Leather Boirhe Bejoré based on a recommendation and was really pleased with the experience. The dishes I tried, including shrimp and a delightful sauce, were delicious. The atmosphere was great, and I booked in advance, which I recommend. Although the prices weren't listed on the whiteboard, it turned out to be very affordable. The drinks were also tasty, including some excellent local liquors. I would definitely revisit this spot!

The standout dish for me was the recommended sashimi platter with six different types, including sweet shrimp, mackerel, kelp-marinated scallops, and yellowtail, all showcasing the day's freshest selections. While in urban areas, tuna and salmon are the usual staples, here the focus was on white fish, which was refreshing. The yellowtail was particularly delicious, rich with fat due to the season. I also ordered a mixed tempura platter and chawanmushi (steamed egg custard), and the complimentary fish dish they served was quite generous, leaving me completely satisfied.

期待して訪れましたが、少し残念でした。雰囲気や店員のお姉さんは良かったのですが、二階の座敷はとても密でした。醤油は辛すぎてお刺身と合わず、刺身自体も冷凍解凍のようでぱさぱさしていました。もう少し頑張ってほしいです！感染に対する不安もあったので、早めに退店しました。福井は感染対策を推進している県ではないのでしょうか？

久しぶりに福井に出張に行ったので、初めてこのお店に伺いました。メニューも豊富で、雰囲気も良かったです！基本的に地元の食材を使っているようですね。昔ながらの雰囲気があり、元気なお母さんがいるので楽しい時間を過ごせました。ごちそうさまでした。また行きたいと思います。
