Le Bistrot Baland - Fréjus

We were visiting Auch for the day, and arrived early enough to study the restaurants. Bistrot Baland turned up trumps, offering an appealing menu du jour and a varied carte. Tables were set out on the shady pavement, with a view of Cathédrale Sainte-Marie on one side and the Place de la République on the other. I went for the mdj (18€ of melon and serrano ham, rôti de porc aux pruneaux, and tarte bourdaloue (pear and almond . My wife chose escargots and a salade composée (saumon fumé, etc . Escargots turned out to be no longer available, so she opted for grilled couteaux (razor-shells instead. To drink, we shared a bottle of flavourful Côtes de Gascogne rosé (23€ . Espressos to finish. This was a good, straightforward and satisfying lunch: no frills, honest dishes, and very friendly service, all at a “correct” price. We plan to return.

Very good dishes. A beautiful decoration. Quality service. A little high prices, however. But smokers on a completely closed terrace and in direct contact with the main room. Strange in 2021.

I like this place very much, we eat very well, fresh quality products, I highly recommend it, it is impossible to be disappointed!! Good and irreproachable presentation Cocktails to fall on the ground in a nutshell.
